Meetings

We would like to invite you to our meetings which are held on the 2nd Saturday of each month. Please feel free to contact our Membership Director for directions.

Our meetings are open to anyone interested in learning about all things transgender. We are a peer to peer support group and we share our own experiences in the hope of being able to comfort, support, and encourage others dealing with similar circumstances and struggles.

Meetings start with announcements and introductions where attendees can share as much or as little as they are comfortable with. We often have one or two topics prepared to share with the group and we encourage group discussions . We also invite guest speakers from time to time that come and present topics that are beneficial. We normally stop for a break part way through and have time to socialize and enjoy a potluck of snacks and finger foods. After the meeting many of our members go out and socialize together as a group at local restaurants.

The Tennessee Vals (T-Vals) are comprised of friendly people from all walks of life who enjoy each other?s company and sharing experiences. We are not a singles group, and this is not a dating service. This is merely a safe supportive environment for people to meet and socialize.

On the third Saturday of each month, the T-Vals hosts a Vals? Night Out, which is an opportunity to enjoy social activities over dinner. The meeting locations are chosen by members and announced prior to the Night Out. Non-members are welcome to join us for this informal, social outing.

The Tennessee Vals are not a political organization. Those who have interests in transgender political issues may contact the Tennessee Transgender Political Action Committee (TTPC) here. The Tennessee Vals do not get directly involved in political activities.
