Note: This alphabetical listing of clubs with
websites should not be considered as a Vals' endorsement, but merely a
resource. We've listed only those clubs that we believe to be
TG-friendly; however we recommend you do your own research before
wearing your boa and platform cha-cha pumps into a club that has since
changed into "men's only" leather bar.
Blu Bar
and Nightclub

LGBT-friendly showbar. Check the website for nightly
schedules. This spot used to be the location of World's End and Jaded
Mary's.
Cabaret
Episode 2, 833 Murfreesboro Road, 615-367-1995
The Cabaret is primarily a lesbian and drag showbar,
but there's usually a mixed crowd, and it's very TG-friendly. Check the
website for nightly schedules. The shows usually start at 10:00 P.M.
and 12:30 A.M., Wednesday through Saturday.
The
Chute Complex - Current Website, 2535 Franklin Road,

The Chute is mostly a men's gay bar, but everyone is
welcome, and it's very TG-friendly. There are several areas within the
complex, including a dance bar, nice piano bar, and drag shows in the
Rainbow Room Showbar. Drag peformances are on Mon-Wed-Fri-Sat nights at
11:00 P.M. and 1:00 A.M.

DeVil's
, 339 Wilhagen Road (off of Murfreesboro Road), 615-366-6696
The DeVil's crowd is mostly gay, lesbian, and TG
during the week, with mixed crowds on weekends. There are various
weeknight events hosted by the bartenders, as well as karaoke on
Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday nights. DeVil's is famous for its drag
show, "The Usual Suspects," on Saturday nights at 11:00 P.M. A new
event, Texas Hold 'Em Poker, is held on Wednesday nights at 8:00,
hosted by Angelica DeVil and Scarlett Redd. During the Summer, they
even have volleyball out back in the sand pit, and there's a nice deck
for spectators to sit back and watch the games. The owner, Angelica
DeVil, is also member of the Tennessee Vals. This spot used to be the
location of Illusions / Tool Box / The Nut House.
Excess/Orbit, 909 1/2 Church Street, 37203,

Excess/Orbit is an after hours dance club, opening
around 2:00 A.M. on Saturday and Sunday mornings, for those who didn't
get enough partying on Friday and Saturday nights. Excess is the
upstairs half, with a dry bar [licorice, Blow Pops, bottled water, etc.
- no alchohol after 3:00 A.M. in Tennessee, pursuant to TN Rule
0100-1-.03(2)] and Orbit is downstairs. Local icons such as DJ Ron and
DJ Maximus provide the music.
Gas Light Lounge, 167 1/2 Eighth Avenue
North, 37203
After two decades, the Gas Lite Lounge closed on
October 2, 2005. It will be missed.
The Jungle Lounge, 515 2nd Avenue South,

The Jungle moved from 306 4th Avenue South to 114
Charlotte Pike not too long ago, but it recently moved again, to 2nd
Avenue.
Kiss

on 6th Avuenue. Go approximately one mile, then turn left on Lea
Avenue. Kiss is the second building on the left with the maroon awning
and wooden porch.
