The
Val’s general meetings begin at 7:00 P.M., but the doors are usually
opened at around 5:00 to 5:30 P.M.
Our transition meeting starts at 6:00PM and runs till 7:00Pm. The
transition meeting is open to anyone interested in learning about
making the adjustment to living full-time as transsexual person. In the
hour or so leading up to the general meeting for those not in the
transition meeting, we have time for casual social interaction, so feel
free to mix, mingle, and network.
From 7:00 PM to 7:30PM we have food, fun and potluck fellowship. Feel
free to bring a dish. Once the general meeting is called to order at
around 7:30 PM, announcements are made about news and upcoming events
of interest to the transgender community. Then, the meeting program
begins and last for an hour or so. Afterwards, many of our members go
out and socialize at the local restaurants and nightclubs. The Val’s
general meetings are conducted by the Board of Directors lead by the
Board Chair. Meetings of the Board, which are held at a different
time and location, are also open to all Val’s members.
During the announcements at the general meetings, members sometimes
mention upcoming legislative votes and/or political events that might
be of interest to the transgender community, but the Tennessee Vals is
not a political organization, and we do not get involved in political
activities. Those who have interests in transgender political issues

On the third Saturday of each
month, the Vals host a "
Girls' Night
Out." We meet at
Tribe
at 7:00 P.M., and we
have dinner at the Red Restaurant, located inside Tribe. Non-members
are welcome to join us for this informal, social outing. After dinner,
some of us go to other various LGBT-friendly nightclubs to enjoy
karaoke, drag shows, plays, drinks, live music, good conversation, etc.
The Tennessee Vals is comprised of friendly persons from all walks of
life, who enjoy each other's company and our shared experiences. We are
not a singles group, and we don't run dating services. What happens
outside of the meetings is your business, but you won't be
propositioned or harassed at our meetings. To get a better idea of
