The Pride Celebration

Many of us weathered the blistering August heat to celebrate Pride at Bicentennial Mall downtown.  Complete with face painting (and occasional melting), food and lots of music (including Pamela and Rachell as 'Cosmonaut Bob') we celebrated our GLBT-ness with a couple of thousand friends that day .

A gaggle of Vals were on hand for the 2001 Pride Ball held April 7, as tradition dictates, at The Parthenon. (Historical note about The Parthenon: It was originally built to celebrate Tennessee's centennial in the 1890's. No Pride Ball was held at that time.)    

The dress code was "evening chic", and we certainly did our best to dress. For the record, Holly was the first spotted cooling her heels with her pumps off.
